Here at ASI Computer Systems we receive dozens of calls each day helping Advertising Specialty find resolutions to all kinds of issues. In the previous and in this Issue of ProfitBUZZ we are providing you with some of the most common questions and answers we have helped with in the past year. A large portion of the questions people call into get support with have to do with how do you apply charges to orders/transactions in progress. The questions asked are typically like:

How Do I:

• Move a deposit from a “billed invoice” or “on account” to an open order?
• Apply an unbilled order deposit to a billed order?
• Adjust off an unpaid finance charge?
• Transfer a deposit to a different customer account?
• Pay back a customer a deposit or refund?
• Handle a small under or over payment by a customer?
• Credit and re-bill an invoice that contains a deposit?

The answers to these questions and similar issues can be found in detail in the Cash Receipts and Adjustments section of the ProfitMAKER Reference Manual.  Instructions exist for both accrual and cash basis accounting methods.  This may be one of the most important sections for day-to-day operations in the ProfitMAKER manuals, so we highly recommend becoming familiar with it!
